The Michael L. Bailey Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund is designed to support students who are pursuing Law Enforcement Exploring Programs. Recipients are awarded a one-time scholarship payment of $500 to assist with school expenses.
Michael L. Bailey, an Arkansas Native, pursued his Criminal Justice Degree following High School Graduation in 1980. By his early twenties Michael was a husband, father, and Police Officer. With his passion for public safety, he went on to serve his community as a State Capitol Police Officer in the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. He also served as a Police Officer in the cities of Liberal, Kansas; Dumas, Arkansas; and Lake Village, Arkansas for over 20 years. He then retired from Law Enforcement as Sergeant Bailey and ran for County Judge in his Arkansas hometown and later taught Criminal Justice at his local High School. Michael L. Bailey passed in 2021 leaving behind a beautiful family and a legacy in public safety and community service. It is only fitting to continue Michael’s legacy of commitment to the community by developing the Michael L. Bailey Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund. It is even more fitting that this scholarship is dedicated to the area of life where Michael devoted his service the most. We consider it an honor to support our future leaders in Law Enforcement.
